My love of photography started when I received my first camera as a Christmas gift from my Grandmother back in the 80’s. It was a Kodak Disc camera, and I would burn through so many of those film disks every time I took the camera out. Through high school and into college I would take photography classes to continue on with my love for it.

When working as an Art Director at an Ad Agency I was introduced to one of the first Digital Cameras. No longer needing to deal with chemicals and darkrooms I bought my first digital camera and jumped right back into it. I started Rick Deal Photography in 2013 and was working primarily with people. I quickly found out that the organized chaos of weddings is not where I wanted to be, I stayed mainly with Senior and Families.

It was a 2017 trip to Charleston South Carolina that my love of landscapes was ignited. (A Special thank you to Keith and Tiffany Briley for all your support and encouragement). Continuing to build a stronger landscape portfolio, I had people asking to buy images, it was 2022 that I stepped back into the Art Show scene, not with portraits this time, but Landscapes. While I continue to photograph seniors on a limited basis, out looking for new and beautiful landscapes is where you can find me.
